In a recent article in the Nature magazine, Prof. Ioan Andricioaei and postdoctoral associate Eunae Kim, in collaboration with an experimental team from the University of Michigan lead by Professor Hashim Al-Hashimi, report a combined computational and NMR study revealing interesting gymnastics in DNA, whereby bases undergo a flip-over transition from the iconic Watson-Crick paired geometry to an alternate conformation.
