The Chemistry Department at Hamilton College invites applications for two positions, one in Physical Chemistry and one in Environmental Analytical Chemistry at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. The teaching load is five courses, consisting of lecture and/or laboratory sections. Specific teaching responsibilities may include Principles of Chemistry (lecture and/or lab), Quantitative Environmental Chemistry (lecture and/or lab), Introduction to Environmental Studies, Physical Methods for Chemical Analysis, and Physical Chemistry I and II. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to mentor student research projects. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would further the College's goals of enhancing the educational experiences of students while building a diverse and inclusive educational environment.

The Hamilton College Chemistry Department consists of eight tenure-track and two instructional faculty. The faculty regularly engage with students in research through the required senior project and the summer research program. The department is excellently resourced with instrumentation for research as well as for instruction and is housed with other sciences in a unified science center.
